Brief History

oldChurch1Morrinsville Baptist was started in 1910 by a small group of believers living in the new settlement of Morrinsville situated some 35km east of Hamilton. From our very earliest days the church has had a strong missional identity, starting numerous 'outposts' or outreaches in surrounding towns and villages that in turn led to new Baptist churches being planted. Today the church has more than 300 people attending from all ages and all walks of life who live or work in and around Morrinsville, New Zealand. Our faith in Jesus Christ is our common bond, and we are committed to living by the values and principles taught by Jesus, as we actively promote his Kingdom through our shared life as a church as well as through our personal daily lives.

We are motivated to share the love of God with our town and region through practical demonstrations of God’s kindness and love, and by presenting the good news of Jesus in a way people can understand and respond to.

We gather together for lively worship and inspirational teaching every Sunday. Our morning worship services start at 10.30am, at our church building at 56 Moorhouse Street. We offer a range of children's groups that run parallel to our morning worship during the school term.

Apart from Sundays, we also meet in various homes and locations across the area during the week. We have a variety of community projects and ministries (see the Ezekiel Trust pages) that seek to demonstrate the love of Jesus in practical ways.

We welcome you to come to our church centre at 56 Moorhouse Street and enjoy our hospitality, participate in worship, and experience the presence of God in a fresh and relevant way.

Our Pastors

Our pastors, supported by a strong team of volunteer leaders, are responsible for the day to day running of the church.
